The club was sanctioned in 1954, with the club’s first match on August 22, 1954.
The club was approved for AKC Licensed status on May 3, 1955.
The club held its first AKC licensed show on September 18, 1955 at the Missoula Livestock Show Barn.
FVKC subsequently became an AKC Member club on March 12, 2002.
The club color is medium green/Kelly green
